No matter how well we look after our horses and ponies we can't always stop them from having accidents. Sprains and strains and swellings can be easily treated at the stable using one of our many hot or cold therapy treatments. A good temporary sprain treatment is a Koolpack, an inert mixture of chemicals held in a sealed bag which are activated by snapping a phial in the bag causing a reaction which produces a freezing temperature. The bag can be safely held over the injury by hand or tied with a bandage.
